Much the same, CVVT is a patented technology of Hyundai Kia and VTEC is a patented technology of Honda. In fact, they are all "variable valve timing technology", which is used to adjust the opening timing, opening size and air intake of the intake valve under different working conditions, so as to achieve the goal of minimum fuel consumption and maximum power output. There are Toyota's VVT-I and BMW's VALVETRONIC.
