What does srs system mean

Srs system is an airbag system.

Airbag refers to the device that inflates the airbag to protect the occupant before the secondary collision occurs during the collision. As an auxiliary device of seat belt occupant restraint device, airbag is called auxiliary restraint system (SRS). The airbag system consists of an integrated airbag module, a collision sensor system and a wiring harness. The integrated airbag module consists of an airbag and an inflation mechanism (gas generator). The collision sensor system senses the collision and sends a deployment instruction to the airbag module, and the wiring harness transmits the signal sent by the sensor.

Development history

From 65438 to 0952, John W. Hetrick, an American engineer, was inspired by a traffic accident, which prompted the related research work.

In August, 1953 and 18 obtained the patent of American auxiliary restraint system.

197 1 year, Ford installed airbags on several experimental vehicles. 1974, GM took the lead in installing the driver's airbag on commercial vehicles, and then installed the airbag on the passenger seat.
