Another one is the status monitoring of lithium iron phosphate batteries, which has always been a worldwide problem, especially in hybrid applications with frequent charging and discharging.

Many car owners buy them just to use them without charging. This makes it more difficult to monitor the battery. It may show 50% power, but in fact it may only be 10%. I personally guess that many EVs are limited. It may be due to this reason. AI intelligence is lower than other car companies. EV limits exposed circuit layout and plug-in batteries. The replacement of oil with hybrid oil has resulted in unreasonable space layout. For example, most of the space in the front cover is wasted, the space in the gearbox disappears but is not fully utilized, and the external battery is exposed on the chassis. The chassis suspension is too weak, causing vibration and reduced comfort, especially when passing speed bumps. It loses power and is unable to accelerate at high speeds and has long battery life.

The biggest disadvantage of hybrids such as DMI, including Honda IMMD, is the high cost of materials. This type of vehicle is no different from ordinary fuel vehicles in terms of power, but it requires two high-power motors and generator power. It is about 100kw, and the motor power is about 100kw. How much rare earth elements and copper are consumed in it? In comparison, the gearbox of a fuel vehicle uses some steel. Even the Toyota Twin Engine only needs two due to the characteristics of the planetary gear. A motor with a power of 25kw is enough, and a pure electric motor with a power of 100,000 yuan only needs a motor of about 70kw.

Of course, if it is purely electric, the cost of elements such as lithium consumed by the battery is also very high. Even if China has abundant reserves of rare earth elements, such large-scale development and utilization will not be a good thing if China no longer has them and they can be developed and utilized abroad. Therefore, these new energy sources can be given to welfare at low prices domestically, but it is better to be more expensive when sold abroad.
