Gansu Normal University for Nationalities is located in Hezuo City, the capital of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at the junction of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces. The school was founded in 1984, formerly known as Cooperative Teachers College for Nationalities, and was transformed into an undergraduate college in 29. It was established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Gansu Provincial People's Government, and it is the only provincial normal college for nationalities in Gansu Province.
