On July 5, 20 17, Xiaomi and Nokia reached a patent cooperation to acquire some Nokia patent assets. The two sides signed a business cooperation agreement and a patent licensing agreement that has been effective for many years, including cross-licensing of essential patents for mobile network standards. The deal also includes Xiaomi's acquisition of some patent assets of Nokia.
