"The newly revised Food Safety Law has increased penalties for acts that are not marked according to regulations. After the implementation of the Food Safety Law, if the production and operation of genetically modified foods are not marked as required, they shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law, and the provisions of the Regulations on the Safety Management of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms shall not be implemented. It is worth noting that there are differences between genetically modified foods and agricultural genetically modified organisms. If it is genetically modified edible agricultural products, it is necessary to consider whether the production and operation belong to the planting and breeding link in agricultural production or the food production, processing or circulation link. The former should still be implemented in accordance with the Regulations on the Safety Management of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms.
Genetically modified foods need to be labeled according to regulations.
