The design of this car shows some novel styles. Although there is the color of Ducati XDiavel in the overall proportion and outline, there is no trace of imitation. Actually, the originality is already very high. Most notably, this sport cruise motorcycle is equipped with a four-cylinder engine developed by Benda itself, which will make it the first domestic inline four-cylinder engine after Benagli 600.
engine
Benda's four-cylinder model code is BD700, indicating that the displacement of the engine is around 700cc, which is likely to be close to 750cc.
As we saw in April, this engine design is very similar to Honda's CB650 four-engine, but at that time we only saw the fuzzy appearance of the cylinder, which looked like Honda's engine. The new design image shows that although the bottom end of the engine is almost the same as that of CB650, all bolt styles and engine mounting seats look the same, but the cylinder head is completely different.
There is no indication that there is any connection between Benda and Honda engines. It is bold to assume that Benda may have purchased the right to design, and its version difference is enough to be regarded as a brand-new engine, or similar elements are not within the scope of Honda's intellectual property protection.
appearance design
There are many things to consider here in terms of appearance and style. The appearance is similar to that of XDiavel in Ducati, and the visual quality is mostly concentrated in the front of the car. Foot nails and wide strips installed in front are connected to the slender base, and their ends are very short from the rear of the rear wheel. But Benda's frame is made of aluminum or steel with an artificial alloy shell, which is completely different from Ducati's plaid design style. Unfortunately, there is no unilateral swing arm. The unilateral swing arm on the Benda BD400 did not appear in this car, but was replaced by a very long aluminum bilateral swing arm. Of course, the in-line four-cylinder engine is far from XDiavel's V-type twin-cylinder in appearance.
The headlights and exhaust pipes of Benda BD700 are obvious modeling features. Headlights look like a small projection ceremony LED in the center and adopt a turbine shape, which is very unique. At the same time, the exhaust system is all encapsulated under the engine, and there are four rectangular air outlets on the right side, which directly reflects the four-cylinder layout of the engine.
In Benda's early trailer (below), the front air section is clearly visible, and we can see it now, but this image lacks the final design radiator, and the completion degree is not high. A large area of radiator can be seen on the design drawing of this exposure.
Other configurations
In other aspects, we can see that the front of BD700 has an inverted front fork and radial four-piston calipers, and the ABS sensor on the brake disc is clearly visible. There is a small flat panel instrument display in the handlebar, just like Diavel's dashboard. If there is no accident, it should be in the form of full-color TFT, and the size will not be too small.
At the rear, the drive is connected to the wide rear tire by a chain. Considering that the possible performance of the engine may be in the range of 100hp, this size of rubber is already very wide, but it plays a vital role in the proportion and visual impact of motorcycles.
Although we don't know when Benda will launch this BD700 model, the patent application represents a substantial step for this car, which is not far from its final appearance, and it will also greatly promote the motorcycle industry in China.
