The National Flag Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that:

The state encourages citizens and organizations to use the national flag and its patterns on appropriate occasions to express patriotic feelings.

Citizens and organizations using the national flag pattern in the network shall abide by the relevant network management regulations and shall not damage the dignity of the national flag.

The national flag and its patterns shall not be used as trademarks, patented designs or commercial advertisements, or used in inappropriate occasions such as private funeral activities.

The National Emblem Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that:

The national emblem and its design shall not be used for:

(1) Trademarks, designs granted patent rights and commercial advertisements;

(2) furnishings and arrangements for daily necessities and daily life;

(3) private celebrations and hanging activities;

(four) other occasions when the General Office of the State Council stipulates that the national emblem and its pattern shall not be used.
