The history of Hubei Institute of Technology can be traced back to Huangshi Industrial School, which was founded in 1975. After that, it experienced the development stages of Huangshi advanced engineering class, advanced medical class, normal college class, Wuhan University of Technology (now Wuhan University of Technology) Huangshi Branch, Huangshi University and Huangshi College.
