It was the first in the world to overcome the long-standing problem of japonica rice hybrid vigor. China became the first country in the world to apply hybrid japonica rice, making a breakthrough contribution to world rice culture. This achievement won the first National Science Conference Award, the third prize of the National Invention Award, and the first prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
