What is propylene? What is this for?

Propylene is an organic compound with the molecular formula of C3H6, which is colorless, tasteless and slightly sweet. Propylene is one of the basic raw materials of three synthetic materials, and the largest amount of propylene is used to produce polypropylene. In addition, propylene can be used to prepare acrylonitrile, propylene oxide, isopropanol, phenol, acetone, butanol, octanol, acrylic acid and its esters, propylene glycol, epichlorohydrin and synthetic glycerol.

At present, the research on chemical process for increasing propylene production mainly focuses on four aspects:

Firstly, improve the FCC refining process, tap the potential of existing units, and upgrade the FCC unit to increase propylene output;

Second, make full use of C4-C8 resources, byproducts of oil refining and ethylene cracking, and convert them into low-carbon olefin cracking technology and olefin disproportionation technology of ethylene and propylene;

Third, propane dehydrogenation process;

The fourth is the methanol to olefin process for producing ethylene and propylene from natural gas and coal.

Characteristics of propylene pigment

(1) can be diluted with water for easy cleaning;

(2) Quick drying. Pigment can be dried in a few minutes after putting pen to paper, instead of waiting for months to polish it like oil painting. Painters who like slow-drying characteristic pigments can use retarders to delay the drying time of pigments;

(3) After drying, the colored layer will quickly lose its solubility and form a tough, elastic and impermeable film. This film is similar to rubber;

(4) The color is full, dense and fresh, and no matter how blended, it will not feel "dirty" or "gray". The colored layer will never have oil absorption and pollution;

(5) the durability of the work is long. The oil film in oil painting is easy to oxidize, yellow and harden, and it is easy to crack the picture after a long time. Theoretically, the propylene film will never be brittle and will never turn yellow;

(6) The biggest difference between acrylic pigment and oil painting is that it has the operational characteristics of general water-based pigment, which can be used as both watercolor and gouache;

(7) There are particles, coarse particles and fine particles in the acrylic plastic ointment, which provides convenience for making texture;

(8) Propylene pigment is toxic, but it will not cause harm to human body. Just be careful not to eat it wrong.
