From this standard, we can know that the production requirements of health products are consistent with the food industry standards, but the difference is that health foods need to pass the examination and certification of the Ministry of Health, or qualification certificates.
Therefore, in the review, health care products, like food, only need to be reviewed from color, smell, physical and chemical indicators, pollutants and other indicators. But in publicity, health care products can carry out functional publicity. The Technical Specification for Inspection and Evaluation of Health Food, which has been implemented since 2003, lists the functions and experimental judgment methods of more than 20 health products in detail.
Although it only claims to have the function, the function of assisting in lowering blood fat and blood sugar is misleading, which has become the most common routine in the promotion of health care products in China.
Although the Detailed Rules for the Examination and Approval of Health Food Registration issued in February 20 16 stipulates that it is necessary to conduct expert review to prove the health function of food. But the expert's evaluation is only based on the theoretical analysis of the submitted materials. The certification of health food required by the Measures for the Administration of Health Food needs to be "proved to have a clear and stable health care function through necessary animal and/or human function tests" and given by a third party organization.
