First, the main research direction:

1, fluid mechanics of oil and gas wells and high pressure injection technology.

This paper mainly studies the flow law of Newtonian fluid, non-Newtonian fluid, multiphase fluid and high-pressure jet in wellbore. Through the study of fluid flow law under complex flow conditions of oil and gas wellbore, we can enrich and develop well washing technology, jet technology, rock breaking technology and well control technology, improve ROP, reduce downhole accidents, reduce production costs, shorten well construction period and improve oil well productivity. Research directions include ultra-high pressure jet experimental system, advanced PIV high-speed jet experimental test and data acquisition and processing system, medium confining pressure and high temperature and high pressure simulation experimental shaft, abrasive jet experimental device and other equipment conditions that can be used for various jet experimental research and multiphase flow law research.

2. Engineering rock mechanics of oil and gas wells.

The main research contents include: prediction and evaluation technology of basic formation parameters, rock fragmentation mechanism and technology, wellbore stability theory and control technology, and rock mechanics problems in the process of completion and reservoir reconstruction. The research direction includes advanced experimental equipment such as high temperature and high pressure triaxial simulation test bed, high temperature and high pressure rock-drilling fluid interaction simulation test bed, rock acoustic test device, rock microscopic test system, and diamond bit research room with advanced research means and production capacity.

3. Oil and gas well information and control engineering.

The main research contents include: mechanical study of oil and gas well string, downhole process control and acquisition and utilization of formation information. The mechanical behavior of pipe string in various wells (vertical wells, directional wells and horizontal wells) is studied by comprehensively applying the theories and methods of basic science, which provides scientific basis for wellbore trajectory control, vertical well deviation prevention, optimal design, rational use and pipe string life prediction. In this research direction, a large-scale string dynamics simulation experimental device and a downhole drill string stress measurement device have been built, and theoretical and experimental research on deviation prevention mechanism has been carried out, and the indoor experimental evaluation method, borehole trajectory prediction and control technology and related software of different bottom hole assembly deviation prevention effects have been formed. An analysis model and related software for drill string friction calculation, strength analysis, stability analysis and fatigue life prediction in directional wells, horizontal wells and extended reach wells are established. Research on casing damage and prevention technology was carried out.

4. Chemistry and technology of drilling fluid and completion fluid.

The main research contents include: the development, formulation and performance of drilling fluid and completion fluid system and treatment agent, the coupling study of wellbore stability chemistry and mechanics, the study of oil and gas reservoir protection, and the study of drilling fluid colloid and interface chemical properties. Research interests include advanced testing instruments such as Fan 90 dynamic filtration instrument, colloidal ZETA potential analyzer and advanced drilling fluid simulation experiment shaft.

5. Cementing and completion engineering and technology

The main research contents include: displacement efficiency of cement injection, fiber cement slurry system, application of low-density fluid in well washing, sand washing, well killing and perforation, hydraulic fracturing design and evaluation technology, sand production mechanism and sand control technology.
