In the 10 years since its establishment, Aerospace Science and Industry, which holds China's first invention patent and utility model patent authorization, has applied for 2,498 domestic and foreign patents, of which invention patents account for 63%; as of December 31, 2008 Today, it has 717 valid domestic and foreign patents, 428 registered trademarks, and 206 computer software registrations. In 2008, among the top ten military industry group companies, Aerospace Science and Industry ranked first in defense patent authorization and third in invention patent authorization. On April 18, 2009, Aerospace Science and Industry took the lead among military industry group companies to promulgate and implement an intellectual property strategy.
The projects developed and participated by CASIC have won special prizes and invention awards from the National Science and Technology Progress Award for many times. Since the establishment of the Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, it has won 30 national science and technology awards and more than 700 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
