How to prevent pigs from getting sick?

Swine cold is an acute systemic disease characterized by inflammatory changes in the upper respiratory tract. Non-infectious, mainly caused by cold, mostly occurs in early spring and late autumn with changeable climate.

The clinical symptoms of sick pigs mainly include depression, loss of appetite, uneven skin temperature, dry nose, temperature rising above 40℃, chills, red eyes, tears, white tongue coating, runny nose, cough, rapid breathing and rapid pulse. Prevention and control measures (1) Strengthen feeding management to prevent colds, and take timely cold protection measures when the temperature suddenly changes.

(2) Inoculate sick pigs with 1 ~ 2 times a day 1 time to relieve fever and pain. To prevent secondary infection, intramuscular injection of ampicillin 10 ~ 20mg/kg body weight or compound sulfamethoxazole injection, 20ml for piglets and 40 ~ 50ml for pigs, twice a day for 2 ~ 3 days; For pigs with slow defecation, laxatives can be given, such as artificial salt 50 ~ 100g and magnesium sulfate 50 ~ 80g.
