In the localization and industrialization of monorail technology, Zhong Jianhua led five R&D teams, including monorail system integration technology and track beam bridge, to make bold innovations and explorations, and achieved many breakthroughs in monorail technology, making outstanding contributions to the independent innovation of rail transit. As the technical director, he organized research and group research, and compiled a nearly one million-word "Research Report on Localization of Engineering Equipment for Chongqing Light Rail Newer Line", including vehicles, supports, turnouts, bridge erecting machines, PC beams, etc. Chongqing has mastered "three key technologies" such as PC track beam system, turnout system and vehicle bogie system, and has overcome "five technical problems" such as localization of PC track beam mold, construction survey and installation of PC track beam, development of bridge erecting machine, electromechanical control system technology of turnout and localization of vehicle bogie system.
Zhong Jianhua presided over and participated in more than 30 projects of national ministries and commissions and Chongqing Municipality, and won more than 20 scientific research awards. In its organization, design and implementation projects, straddle-type monorail technology has obtained four national patents-straddle-type monorail turnout inter-beam connecting device (patent number ZL200520033027.7), straddle-type monorail turnout driving device (patent number ZL200520033028. 1) and straddle-type monorail turnout position locking device (patent number ZL 200520033)
