Lixi Town is located in the Mufu Mountain District in northern Jiangxi, on the middle reaches of Xiujiang River. It has always been under the jurisdiction of Wuning County and is located in the west of the county. Lixi Town is geographically part of the mountains and hills on the edge of Hubei and Jiangxi. The town is divided into northern and southern parts according to the topography. The northern part is a mountainous area. The highest point is Taiping Mountain in Tianqiu Natural Village of Taiping Village, with an altitude of 1,224 meters; the lowest point is Linjiangping in Linjiang Village, with an altitude of less than 65 meters. In 2008, the total area was 289 square kilometers, including 254,487 acres of forest land, 30,000 acres of water surface, and 24,700 acres of cultivated land (21,519 acres of paddy fields). It connects Yangang Village, Jianfu Village, Shiyang Village, and Dongping Village of Futian Township in the east; Changping Village, Xieshi Village, Liaotian Village, Shikeng Village, Liaoli Village, and Dong'an Village of Chuantan Town in the west; and Xiuhe River in the south. It borders Qingjiang Township and Shidu Township and faces each other across the river; it relies on Taiping Mountain and Simian Mountain in the middle of the Mufu Mountains to the north and is adjacent to Tongshan County in Hubei Province across the mountain. There are 15 administrative villages in the town, namely Lixi, Pailou, Luoping, Taiping, Dayuan, Kanshang, Caokeng, Shangjing, Yanshan, Xiaoping, Shankou, Shaobei, Xiafang, Beiwan, Lin Jiang 15 villages.
The territory has a network of natural water systems with sufficient water sources. The water systems formed by the Simian Mountains include: Dayuandong water originating from Wulitu, Guokengdong water and Huangzhudong water originating from Simian Mountains, Shanniudang's Ganshedong water, Tianhe mountain water, and Dapingjian water meet at Zhuyuan, and they receive Menshan water at Yingtian in Shangjing Village. They all flow into Lixi Port and enter Xiuhe River from Guijing from north to south; located in To the west of Lixi River, the Chigang Mountains and Waters originating from Liaoshan Mountain enter Xiuhe River from the upper reaches, originating from Luofeng Mountains and Waters, flowing through Futian and converging into Yangang; there are also 11 streams such as Huangshayuan and Dengyuan, with a total length of 105 kilometers. Due to the abundant water resources, Dayuan Reservoir (power station) and Dawan Power Station were built in Dayuandong, and Pinggang Power Station was built in Guokhangdong. There are also Banyuan Reservoir in Pailou Village, Liaoyuan Reservoir in Xiaoping Village, Zhongxi Reservoir in Yanshan Village, Changtang Reservoir and Menshan Reservoir in Caokeng Village, Zengshan Reservoir in Shankou Village, Dengshan Reservoir in Linjiang Village There are Quanyuan Reservoir in Yuan Natural Village, Laogeshi Reservoir in Lixi Village, and Wanggudong Reservoir in Xiafang Village.
Lixi Town is rich in forest resources. In October 2003, the forestry system reform was calculated through the design outline. The forest area was 254,487 acres, including 35,456 acres of public welfare forest, 4,450 acres of joint forestry by two households, and returned farmland. There are 11,420 acres of forests, and 251,900 acres of mountain forests are contracted and allocated to households; including 14,780 acres of economic forests and 734 acres of moso bamboo forests; the forest mainly produces pine, fir, and bamboo, and there are many miscellaneous tree species with high utilization value; the mountains are rich in honeysuckle There are many medicinal materials such as , white peony root, angelica root, Ophiopogon japonicus and galangal, as well as wild fruits such as kiwi fruit and chestnut.
The territory is rich in geological and mineral resources, with considerable reserves of marble, granite, quartz stone, and stone coal. Minerals, wood and bamboo, and food processing enterprises are beginning to take shape. The town has 8 lime kilns, 3 large brick factories, 4 wood and bamboo processing plants, 3 mineral product processing plants, and Luye Food Company produces acorns. The vermicelli has won provincial quality products and obtained national patents. The town has established an agricultural and sideline products circulation association, mainly exporting rice, cotton, wood, moso bamboo, osmanthus bamboo, mangosteen, bamboo shoots, sesame, soybeans, silkworm cocoons, etc.
