Ni Zhifu's invention was immediately named "Ni Zhifu Diamond". The Ministry of Machinery Industry and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions jointly made a decision to promote it nationwide in 1956. According to the different needs of production practice, Ni Zhifu, which strives for perfection, has developed "Nizuan" into a series of drills with different materials and processing requirements, such as steel, cast iron, brass, plate, bakelite, aluminum alloy, blank holes and deep holes. Ni Zhifu's invention was supported by the leaders and colleagues of Yongding Machinery Factory and the scientific and technical personnel of Beijing Institute of Technology.
