Up to now, China Mobile has submitted to the State Patent Office PCT international applications for ten patents, such as "A method to realize communication service-level services based on user requests", and the number of domestic patents has exceeded 130, which has become the technical basis for services such as color ring tones and videophones urgently needed by China Mobile, greatly lowering the patent threshold for business development and accelerating the launch of new services of China Mobile. In 2005, the Institute accelerated the protection of innovative intellectual property rights and submitted more than 90 patent applications, accounting for more than 95% of the patent applications of China Mobile Group.
It is in the continuous technological and business innovation that the research institute found that the patent of mobile communication has penetrated into many subtle fields. Therefore, China Mobile believes that the more core patents it has, the more it can take the initiative in the future when new technologies and new services emerge one after another, which is the core chip of operators in the market competition.
