Patent insurance refers to the insurance in which the insured takes the authorized patent as the subject matter. During the insurance period, the insurance company shall compensate the insured for the investigation expenses arising from the protection of patent rights in accordance with the contract. This kind of insurance is used to pay for the litigation expenses arising from defending the exclusive rights or defending the alleged infringement of others' patents, while patent insurance is still a new type of insurance in China. At the beginning of 20 12, eight cities including Beijing were selected as pilot cities for patent insurance. In June165438+1October of the same year, China National Intellectual Property Administration officially approved the second batch of patent insurance pilot projects in 20 regions including Fuzhou. At present, compulsory patent insurance is introduced, and the scope of insurance claims is not only patent infringement. At present, the importance of patent right as an intangible asset is increasing day by day. Patent insurance not only reduces the business risk of enterprises to a certain extent, but also protects the important patent assets of enterprises, thus obtaining the benefits due under the patent system, enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises and promoting the benign development of enterprises.
