Six drive patents

Recently, Mazda applied for a patent for a new exhaust system of an in-line six-cylinder engine. This patented technology can effectively reduce the size of the in-line six-cylinder engine, making it smaller and suitable for more small cars.

At present, the biggest problem of in-line six-cylinder engine is that it is too long, which makes the traditional in-line six-cylinder engine can only be placed vertically in the slender engine compartment and must adopt the rear-drive layout.

Mazda's brand-new in-line six-cylinder engine can be cleverly placed in the engine compartment because of its compact size, which not only increases the interior space, but also conforms to Mazda's front-wheel drive-oriented product line.

You know, in the 1990s, Mazda still held the record of the smallest six-cylinder engine in the world with its 1.8-liter K8 engine. The new compact six-cylinder engine can well supplement the four-cylinder engine and compete with competitors' 2.0T and1.5t. It makes up for the shortage of Mazda's 200~300 horsepower.

Do not mix, do not turbine, only through naturally aspirated gasoline engine, to achieve the power level of turbine engine, as well as the fuel economy of hybrid system, I have to say that Mazda, who is bent on creating blue sky, is really a maverick technical madman.

Meanwhile, Mazda is developing an 8AT gearbox. Different from the way that Japanese car companies generally adopt CVT, Mazda is still working hard to develop a more advanced 8-speed automatic transmission to match the six-cylinder engine mentioned above. In view of the outstanding performance of mazda 6AT at present, I believe this brand-new 8AT can also provide even better performance.

In the future, the powertrain of this inline six-cylinder engine +8AT will be installed on all Mazda models and directly compete with competitors' 2.0T products. Mazda 3, 6, CX 4 and CX 5 are expected to be the first products equipped with this new power system.
