What is the intellectual property status of genetically modified rice in China?

China's research on transgenic rice has been at the leading level in the world. Since 2000, the number of patent applications for rice genes and transgenic technology in China has increased year by year. In recent 10 years, the total number of patent applications and annual applications are much higher than those of the United States, Japan and other countries.
