The applicant must submit the following documents to the Korean Intellectual Property Office:
A. the name and address of the applicant;
B. Name of invention and priority date:
C the application documents must contain the contents of the invention, a brief description of the drawings, a detailed description and the claims;
2. Formal review
KIPO checks the documents submitted by the patent applicant to ensure that all requirements meet the formal requirements of the patent application. According to relevant laws and regulations, applications that meet the following requirements will be rejected:
(1) The application type is not clear;
(2) There is no name and address of the applicant;
(3) The application content is not written in Korean;
(four) the application is not detailed and attached;
(5) After submitting the application, the applicant is not a Korean resident or has no domicile in Korea, and has not entrusted a Korean agent.
4. Substantive review
According to the Patent Law, a patent should meet the following requirements when registering:
(1) According to the patent law, it conforms to the defined invention;
(2) It should be innovative, practical and creative;
(3) Meet the requirements of public order and good customs.
5. Decide to authorize registration.
If the examiner does not find the contents of the patent that will not be registered, he will issue a notice of decision to register.
Step 6 register
After receiving the decision to approve the registration, the applicant shall pay the annual fee of the previous three years as the registration fee within three months to register the patent. If the applicant fails to pay the registration fee within 9 months after deciding to grant the patent notice, the patent application shall be deemed to have been abandoned.

The examiner found that there was no reason for refusing to register, and the Korean Intellectual Property Office made the patent registration public after the applicant paid the registration fee. After the patent is published in the patent announcement, anyone can raise a patent objection for 3 months.
