Karl Benz is a German
Karl Benz (1844-1929) is one of the pioneers of the modern automobile industry and is known as the "Father of the Automobile". After years of hard work, he finally developed a single-cylinder gasoline engine and installed it on a three-wheeled vehicle frame of his own design. Obtained the world's first "automobile manufacturing patent" (January 29, 1886).
Bentz was born in Germany as a posthumous son in 1844. His father was a train driver, but he died in an accident in 1843 before he was born. From high school, Benz had a strong interest in natural sciences, and in 1860 he entered the Karlsruhe Polytechnic School. At this school, he systematically studied courses such as mechanical structure, mechanical principles, engine manufacturing, and economic accounting of machinery manufacturing, which laid a good foundation for his future development. After experiencing life experiences such as apprenticeship, military service, marrying a wife and having children, he established the "Benz Iron Foundry Company and Machinery Workshop" in 1872 to specialize in the production of building materials.
Later, Benz entered the engine and automobile industry, manufacturing the first horizontal-bar gas engine on December 31, 1879, and the world's first car in 1885. Around 1906, Benz and his two sons established Benz Motor Company in Ladenburg. In 1926, they merged with Daimler Motor Company to form Benz Motor Company. Died in Ladenburg on April 4, 1929.
