"If You Are the One" What impressed you about Ge You's movies?

In fact, the setting of the hero and heroine in this film is very similar to Xiaogang Feng's early work "Be there or be square". I also think it is the best narrative in Xiaogang Feng's New Year film, at least it uses stories to express the characters. I can't count how many days Ge You and Shu Qi went to the teahouse and bar to chat in If You Are the One. A movie that relies entirely on dialogue rather than action can only be described as incompetence. Some people may say that there is such a movie about dialogue, but it is a commercial movie, which is exciting. Why do you talk all the time and I bother to go to the movies? In fact, it doesn't matter if there are more or less conversations. How about a little skill when shooting? Yoshimitsu Morita's "Like Asura" contains many scenes of dialogue, but when he shoots a dialogue, the camera is always moving, never cutting without technical content, subtly revealing the relationship between characters and inner belonging, which seems boring; Masayuki Suo's "Even I didn't do it", in which a large section of court drama is full of dialogue, but it relies entirely on the ideographic function of lens scheduling and picture composition, which pushes the psychological tension to the peak. In "If You Are the One", all dialogues are the most idiotic way to deal with them, explaining the relationship between characters and then cutting back. There is basically no scheduling and lens design on the screen, which is boring to the extreme. It's a boring story of leftover men and women seeking emotional support. This is not new or skilled. Until the end, I didn't see the inevitability of these two people being together. There is also the plot of Liang Xiaoxiao finally jumping into the sea, which is silly. What is even more ridiculous is that he happened to be rescued by fishermen passing by. I thought such soap and reluctant plot could only be seen in Qiong Yao's plays. This movie is really not worth contributing to the box office. Why not watch DVD at home and lose nothing?

As a familiar theme and style, Xiaogang Feng's loss of control over the content and form of the film makes me feel incredible. It feels that he is barely mixing some movie elements together in the most elementary way, but in fact the overall content and form are separated, such as music. It has always been thought that among the directors in China, Xiaogang Feng's understanding and application of music is excellent, but in If You Are the One, music is basically forgotten. After the title, the first scene to meet the candidate was accompanied by an English song sung by Yang Kun. I don't know what's the use here Yang Kun's half-baked English is clumsy even when singing. Feng Xiaoxiao jumped into the sea in Japan, but accompanied by a song sung by Laure Shang in French. What a mystery! At the beginning of "world without thieves", Lisa Ono sang the French chansons, but there, I feel that the music and the picture are still very harmonious, and it is very stiff when you are the one. Does Xiaogang Feng think that using some non-Chinese songs will help to improve the film style? This is ridiculous. This problem exists in the whole song, and it can't promote emotional sublimation at all. I can't remember which song touched me.
