A car is a vehicle that is driven by its own power and does not need to be erected on rails or electricity, and can travel on a motorized basis. Broadly speaking, vehicles with four wheels are generally called cars.
Auto (English word) generally refers to a car (it was invented by Carl Benz), a modern means of transportation. The original English translation is "automatic car", and it is also called "automatic car" in Japan. "Car" (car in Japanese kanji refers to what we call train), and other languages ??mostly refer to "automatic car", with the exception of China.
Karl Benz invented the car, and Ford is said to have invented the first four-wheel car. Karl Benz (1844-1929) is one of the pioneers of the modern automobile industry, known as "Father of the automobile". Benz was born in Germany in 1844 as a posthumous son. His father was a train driver, but he died in an accident in 1843 before he was born. From high school, Benz had a strong interest in natural sciences, and in 1860 he entered the Karlsruhe Polytechnic School. At this school, he systematically studied courses such as mechanical structure, mechanical principles, engine manufacturing, and economic accounting of machinery manufacturing, which laid a good foundation for his future development. After experiencing life experiences such as apprenticeship, military service, marrying a wife and having children, he established the "Benz Iron Foundry Company and Machinery Workshop" in 1872 to specialize in the production of building materials. Due to the sluggish construction industry at that time, Benz's factory was in difficulty and faced the danger of bankruptcy. When he was helpless, he decided to make high profits by manufacturing engines to get out of the predicament. Therefore, he obtained a business license to produce Otto four-stroke gas engines. After more than a year of design and trial production, he produced the first single-cylinder gas engine on December 31, 1879 (the speed was 200 rpm, Power is approximately 0.7 kW). However, this engine did not help Mercedes-Benz escape from financial difficulties. He still faced the danger of bankruptcy and lived a very difficult life. However, the poor life did not change Benz's determination to devote himself to engine research. After years of hard work, he finally developed a single-cylinder gasoline engine and installed it on a three-wheeled vehicle frame of his own design. Obtained the world's first "automobile manufacturing patent" (January 29, 1886).
