What does priority mean?

The so-called priority refers to the priority enjoyed by the applicant for trademark registration on the application date. Paragraph 1 of Article 24 of the Trademark Law stipulates that an applicant for trademark registration who applies for registration of the same commodity with the same trademark in China within six months from the date when his trademark is first filed in a foreign country may enjoy the priority according to the agreement signed by the foreign country with China or the international treaties to which both countries are parties, or according to the principle of mutual recognition of priority.
