PEDOT has the characteristics of simple molecular structure, small energy gap and high conductivity, and is widely used in the research of organic thin-film solar cell materials, OLED materials, electrochromic materials, transparent electrode materials and other fields.
In 1988, Bayer Company of Germany first synthesized the derivative of polythiophene, namely PEDOT, which takes 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) as monomer, and it has attracted wide interest of scientists because of its high conductivity and good environmental stability.
