What is the procedure for applying for a patent in Chile?

The applicant shall submit the patent application documents to the State Industrial Property Office of Chile, and the staff of the relevant departments shall examine the application documents. If there is any problem with the review results, the applicant shall reply to the opinions within 60 working days, and make corrections, clarifications or supplements to relevant documents as appropriate. If there is no reply within the prescribed time limit, it shall be deemed as giving up submitting the patent application; There is no problem with the recheck result, and the next process is entered. The official will publish the application in the official announcement of Chile's national industrial property rights. Any interested party may raise an objection to the patent applicant within 45 days from the announcement period.

After the examination is completed, the State Industrial Property Office of Chile will issue a resolution to the applicant to grant patents for inventions, utility models, designs, layout designs and integrated circuit designs, register the applied patents, and grant patents to specific patent holders at the request of the applicant after the applicant pays the corresponding fees.
