Yulin City, a prefecture-level city in Shaanxi Province, began in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the resident of Yansui Town (also known as Yulin Town) in Jiubian Town in Ming Dynasty. Emperor Kangxi gave it a stone tablet, known as "the ancient city in the south tower, and the sixth floor is famous for riding the street."
Yulin is located in the northernmost part of Shaanxi Province, China, at the junction of the Loess Plateau and Mu Us Sandy Land, which is the transitional zone between the Loess Plateau and Inner Mongolia Plateau. The Yellow River faces Shanxi Province across the river in the east, borders Ningxia and Gansu in the west, Yan 'an in the south and Ordos in the north. This is the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Mongolia and Shanxi provinces, and it has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. The total land area is 42,920.2 square kilometers.
