The registration period of American trademarks is 10 year. For American trademarks, it is necessary to re-submit the evidence map of trademark use during the 5-6 years after the certificate is issued, indicating that the trademark is still in use. If the evidence diagram is not submitted, the trademark will automatically become invalid.
The registered trademark of the United States shall be renewed 9- 10 years after the date of registration, and the product use certificate shall be provided again. If the extension is ignored in the 9th 9- 10/0 year, there will be a grace period of 6 months, but the extension will pay an extra fee. In order to prevent unnecessary losses, it is suggested to extend the extension period as soon as possible.
If the registrant fails to submit the relevant documents to the US Patent and Trademark Office after missing the extension period, the trademark registration will be revoked.
