The first one is pop-up headlights, also known as jumping lights. Many people are most impressed by the picture of A 186 in the prefix D turning off the headlights and overtaking in the dark. 1974, the United States issued relevant regulations that the height of car headlights should not be less than 24 inches, but it is too high to be beautiful. Many car designers have adopted the design of ejecting headlights when not in use. You can hide it on the top of the car and eject it. Later, because the headlights will increase the wind resistance coefficient when they pop up, the pop-up device is easy to be damaged, and it is easy to cause secondary injuries to pedestrians in the event of a collision, so this handsome design slowly disappeared.
The second classic design is the headlight wiper. Nowadays, cars are generally equipped with wipers on both the front windshield and the rear windshield. High-end cars may have headlight cleaning devices, but in the early days, when there was no headlight cleaning device, some car companies would install wipers on car headlights to reflect the luxury of their cars. Later, because the headlights were designed into various shapes, the replacement was faster and the mechanical devices were easily damaged, they were slowly cancelled or replaced with headlight cleaning devices.
The third design, that is, door-to-door design, was very popular in early luxury models, because people who bought cars at that time were either rich or expensive. When getting on and off the bus, they should be calm and don't make too much movements. Door-to-door design will make the way of getting on and off more elegant and atmospheric, but due to the limited technical level at that time, the door will not be closed, the gap behind the door is forward, and the airflow is reverse, so it is easy to open the door. Moreover, this kind of door, if a car hits the back door when passengers get off the bus, will cause passengers to be caught, so it is also called suicide door. If you open the door front, this will not happen. So many luxury car companies gradually canceled this design. At present, only Rolls-Royce still retains this design.
The last one is the standard of force. Speaking of the standard of force, everyone knows that it is a symbol of luxury cars, such as the flying goddess of Rolls-Royce, the three-pointed star of Mercedes-Benz, the moon leopard of Jaguar and so on. However, although Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce still have force marks, they are basically concave. Because the landmark is too sharp, it may hurt people when colliding, so many countries prohibit the sale of landmark models, which is also the reason why landmarks really disappear. Nowadays, with the progress of science and technology, the speed of automobile upgrading is very fast, so it is reasonable to eliminate some designs and configurations. The continuous improvement of automobile design level can also reflect the development of our human society.
