Disaster prevention and mitigation engineering and protection engineering of Civil Engineering College are key disciplines in Guangdong Province, and municipal engineering, heating, gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering are key (supporting) disciplines in Guangdong Province. In the past three years, the College of Civil Engineering has presided over more than 200 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, with research funding of more than 40 million yuan, won the National Science and Technology Progress Award 1 item, 7 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology progress awards, published more than 60 monographs and teaching materials, published more than 600 academic papers, obtained more than 0 patents1item, and edited and participated in 65,438 national norms, industry standards and local regulations.
At present, the College of Civil Engineering has 1 National Key Laboratory and Training Base (Earthquake Control and Structural Safety Laboratory), 1 Guangdong Key Laboratory and 3 Guangzhou Key Laboratories. In order to cultivate students' practical ability and innovative spirit, 22 well-equipped practice bases such as Guangzhou Construction Group, Guangzhou Electromechanical Installation Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Water (Group) Co., Ltd. were established to meet the requirements of practical teaching.
