In addition, in August 2019, some models of Emma Technology’s electric bicycles were banned from sale in Beijing by the Beijing Municipal Supervision Bureau due to the cancellation of the 3C certificate. Its environmental pollution problems have also been criticized. For example, when the Central Environmental Protection Inspection Team inspected Tianjin in 2017, it was announced that the Tianjin Emma Technology Workshop was producing day and night, and the VOC and wastewater did not meet the standards, producing a pungent odor, and the water quality was tested to exceed the standards.
