First, all the 5G mobile phones sold are the objects of collection. Huawei charges a wide range of 5G patent fees this time. 5G mobile phones sold in the market, whether they are overseas giant mobile phone brands, such as Apple and Samsung, or domestic mobile phone manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, OV and New Glory, are all within the scope of collection. Any 5G mobile phone on sale will be charged 5G patent fees by Huawei, so no mobile phone manufacturer will be spared.
Second: The patent service fee charged for each 5G mobile phone will not exceed $2.50. Seeing this charging standard, we can see Huawei's conscience, because among all enterprises charging 5G patent fees, Huawei's charging standard should be the lowest. Even the price of Nokia and Ericsson is three or four times that of Huawei. The charges in Qualcomm are even more outrageous. In Qualcomm, charges are not determined according to the specific amount, but according to the price of mobile phones.
In Qualcomm, the standard for charging 5G patent fees is no more than 4% of the selling price of mobile phones. For a mobile phone manufacturer like Xiaomi, a company with a profit rate of less than 5% must ensure that its mobile phone price has a profit of at least 10 point, so that it can have extra profits to pay the patent fee. In other words, a 2000 yuan mobile phone needs to pay Qualcomm the patent fee of 80 yuan, which is already quite high.
Third: the specific charge amount needs to be negotiated with the manufacturer. Although Huawei has set the charging standard, mobile phone manufacturers and Huawei will definitely negotiate and there will be some bargaining on the charging standard. After all, it is impossible for merchants to pay according to the highest standards of Huawei's fees, and merchants always hope to get a little concession. Huawei's original intention of charging 5G patent fees is not to make money, so Huawei is likely to make concessions to domestic mobile phone manufacturers.
So in my opinion, although domestic mobile phone manufacturers can't avoid Huawei, they also need to pay Huawei 5G patent fees, but Huawei will definitely give domestic mobile phone manufacturers some space, and the charging standard will drop. For companies like Apple and Samsung, even if Huawei sticks to its bottom line, the charging standard is much lower than that of Qualcomm, Nokia and Ericsson.
Although Huawei will start to collect 5G patent fees, the purpose of Huawei's doing so is not only for money, but also to counter the United States and once again consolidate Huawei's position in the 5G field.
