BYD's "Blade Battery" in Pacific Auto Network makes the battery cell reasonably flat and long under a certain volume, which has the advantages of improving the energy density of the battery and increasing the heat dissipation area of the battery cell. Because the battery is flatter and longer than the traditional square battery, it is called "blade battery".

According to the patent of BYD in China National Intellectual Property Administration, the longest length of "blade battery" can reach 2500mm, which is more than 10 times of that of traditional lithium iron phosphate battery, which greatly improves the grouping efficiency of the battery and is a series of batteries that can be adjusted according to different needs.

There are three main advantages of "blade battery".

1, the volume energy density is obviously improved. The patent shows that the volume energy density of the "blade battery" technology package exceeds 330Wh/L, which can be improved by more than 30% compared with the original battery system.

2. The cost is reduced by more than 30%. By saving materials and labor costs, the cost of the battery pack is expected to be reduced by 30%.

3. Good heat dissipation performance. Because the "blade battery" is thinner than the traditional square battery, the heat dissipation effect is better.
