The basic medical college is the teaching and scientific research department of the medical campus, which undertakes all basic medical courses of continuing medical education for graduate students, undergraduates and adults in basic medical college, clinical medical college, public health college, stomatological college and pharmacy college. It is an important base of medical education and the research center of basic medical theory, and it is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive teaching and research department.
The College has Gansu Provincial Key Laboratory for Preclinical Research of New Drugs, 17 grass-roots teaching and scientific research organizations, 1 office and 3 scientific research centers. Grass-roots organizations are respectively Institute of Human Anatomy and Histoembryology, Institute of Genetics, Institute of Physiology and Psychology, Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Institute of Pathogenic Biology, Institute of Immunology, Institute of Pathological Anatomy, Institute of Pathophysiology, Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Institute of Pharmacology, Institute of Evidence-based Medicine, Institute of Surgery, Institute of New Drug Design and Synthesis, Institute of Neuroscience, Department of Nursing, Experimental Teaching Center of Basic Medicine and Medical Experiment Center. Scientific research centers include evidence-based medicine research center, tuberculosis research center and genetics research center.
