In ancient times, people would choose to plant vegetables around hot springs to obtain fresh fruits in winter, or plant vegetables and fruits in houses to make fires to allow plants to grow. Many people think that it was very difficult to eat fresh fruits due to backward technology in ancient times. But in fact, off-season vegetables have already appeared in ancient times. The ancients used their wisdom to create good conditions for themselves.
It is said that food is the most important thing for the people. Chinese people have a special love for food. Because of the development of modern science and technology, many vegetables and fruits basically have no seasonal differences, so we can eat fresh fruits and vegetables even in the cold winter. But the wisdom of the ancients cannot be underestimated, so they thought of increasing the surrounding temperature to promote plant growth to obtain fresh fruits and vegetables. So using this principle, the ancients came up with two methods.
First: Plant vegetables and fruits around the hot springs. As we all know, hot springs are formed by volcanoes, so the ambient temperature around the springs is relatively high, which is very suitable for the growth of plants in winter. So ancient people planted fruits and vegetables next to the hot springs and had them taken care of every day. In this way, they could get fresh fruits and vegetables. But because there are not many hot springs, the fruits and vegetables you get are actually very limited.
Second method: Build a house, plant fruits and vegetables inside and light a fire to increase the indoor temperature. This method actually has the same principle as the modern vegetable shed, except that in ancient times there were no plastic products, so we could only build a house to increase the indoor temperature. And lighting a fire can also better raise the room temperature, so there are dedicated people to manage the indoor temperature every day to a range suitable for growth. This shows that the wisdom of the ancients cannot be underestimated. They have already had out-of-season fruits and vegetables and understood the principles of plant growth.
