Does Apple's mobile phone have naked-eye 3D?

An Apple patent application related to naked-eye 3D was officially exposed. According to the simulated 3D image technology mentioned in this patent, in theory, the display screens of iPhone and other Apple devices can be turned into 3D stereoscopic displays, and users can see stereoscopic images without wearing 3D glasses.

According to Apple's patent application document, this patent describes an imaging element array, which has a sub-pixel array and a lens structure, wherein the lens structure can refract light to various angles, and finally, through the processing of the key component "light guide", the three-dimensional light column forming a 3D image is finally guided to the observer. In addition, related devices can also use cameras, accelerators, gyroscopes and GPS to control which direction the light points.

Although the patent document does not explain the potential application direction of this patent, we can read from the keywords such as accelerator, gyroscope and GPS that this patent is more likely to be applied to the mobile device iPhone.

In fact, we have heard the news of iPhone and naked-eye 3D more than once. As early as 20 12, Apple hinted at the existence of this technology through a patent application. In addition, the supplier from Taiwan Province Province also revealed in 20 14 that the future iPhone may be equipped with naked-eye 3D screen.

So far, naked-eye 3D technology is far from successful in consumer electronics. Amazon's Fire Phone smartphone failed to provide a real stereoscopic effect, but a sensor system with a "dynamic perspective". Perhaps the most successful one so far is Nintendo's 3DS handheld, but it needs the cooperation of the upper and lower screens. I hope that Apple's patent will eventually become a real product, allowing users to feel the shocking effect of 3D stereoscopic images with the naked eye.
