German lawyer income

In the final ranking, Germany’s average salary in four of the five legal career categories entered the top five countries in Europe. Only legal secretaries have a lower income: they only earn an average of 25,341 euros per year, ranking 12th. There is a clear gap compared with the leading country of Switzerland, where the annual income of a legal secretary is equivalent to 68,140 euros. On the other hand, the average annual salary of German notaries is 125,727 euros, ranking third in the European comparison. Followed by lawyers, the average annual income of ordinary lawyers in Germany is 105,678 euros, ranking fourth in Europe. Legal assistants and mediators are also highly paid, with average annual salaries of €57,337 and €54,556 respectively: they rank fifth and fourth in Europe respectively. In Switzerland, almost all legal professional groups have the highest salaries in Europe. But as a lawyer, you can earn the most in Norway: the average annual salary is as high as 129,313 euros, followed by Switzerland, with an average annual salary of 127,869 euros. In Denmark, the salaries of all legal professional groups are among the top five. Lowest salaries: Poland, Romania, Russia. Lawyers in Poland, Romania and Russia do not earn as much as in other European countries: sometimes they earn only one-third or even one-seventh of those at the top of the rankings. However, the cost of living varies greatly from country to country, so comparisons cannot be made in terms of absolute workload.
