BYD's continuously variable transmission adopts a principle called motor-generator continuously variable transmission (ecvt). The transmission is mainly composed of motor, generator and CVT transmission device. The motor receives electric energy from the battery and converts it into mechanical energy to drive the vehicle forward. The generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and recharges it to the battery.
