What is nb-iot?

Nb-iot is a narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT). NB-IoT is built on a cellular network and consumes only about 180KHz bandwidth. The licensed frequency band can be deployed in three ways: in-band, guard band or independent carrier, and stored with the existing network. It can be directly deployed in GSM network, UMTS network or LTE network, reducing deployment cost and realizing smooth upgrade.

2. Characteristics and objectives of 2.NBIOT

(1) Super coverage: Compared with GPRS, the signal gain is increased by 20db.

(2) Ultra-low power consumption: The goal of terminal power consumption is: based on AA(5000mAh) battery, the service life can exceed 10 years.

(3) Super-large number of connections: one sector can support tens of thousands of connections, with low delay sensitivity, ultra-low equipment cost, low equipment power consumption and optimized network architecture.

(4) Ultra-low cost: NB-IoT does not need to rebuild the network, and the RF and antenna are basically multiplexed.
