The extended family wrote a complaint to the Bozhou government (when Zhang's hometown was in Bozhou). Bozhou sent people to Zhang's hometown to capture Zhang Lexing. See Zhang Le dint, dare not make a move, people just said to Zhang Lexing, please go to the city to make a reservation. But Zhang Lexing refused, and said to the bearer, Your magistrate wants to see me and ask him to lead troops to fight with me. The bearer had to leave despondently. Later, the magistrate knew that he was invincible and did not dare to delve into it.
Since then, Zhang Lexing has established a high prestige among the refugees and the local poor, and the refugees rushed to join and gathered together, which laid the foundation for his later uprising. 1March, 863, the Nian army was defeated, and Zhang Lexing only led more than ten riders to break through. On March 23, Zhang Le Xing took his son Zhang Xi and his adopted son Wang Waner to Xiyang Ji (now Xiyang Town, Guoyang County) and spent the night in the stockade of Li Jiaying of Nian Army Lanqi Army. At this time, Li Jiaying has defected. On the surface, he warmly received Zhang Lexing and his son, but at dawn the next day, he secretly sent the tip-off to Han Ying, Suzhou. Han Ying led Yong ying and blue flag soldiers to revolt, arrested Zhang Lexing and his son, and sent them to Sanglinqin camp. On February 18th, the second year of Tongzhi, Zhang Lexing, his son Zhang Xi and his son Wang Waner died in Yimenji, Zhou Ying. Legend has it that Zhang Lexing didn't stand on his knees and ignored the monk's toast before he died. The monk leader asked, why did you rebel? Zhang Lexing replied in awe: I am the one who harms others and myself, and you are the one who harms others and yourself. The monk leader was helpless and ordered him to be executed within the year. It is also recorded that the monk had threatened and induced him to write letters to Zhang Zongyu and Ren Huabang abroad. Instead of giving in, he cursed Monk Qin and denounced some traitors. Zhang Lexing died a generous and tragic death. It is said that when the executioner executes, he first pulls the intestines out of the anus with an iron hook, and then executes them in the middle of the year. As soon as the bad news came out, the people on both sides of the Wohe River sang the following ballad with great sadness: It hurts to look at Yimen, tears burst down when looking at King Wo, and the sun has lost its light since then ... This ballad expressed people's infinite nostalgia for this leader of the Nian Army who fought against the Qing Dynasty.
