A brief introduction to the story of the storm I experienced

"I Through the Storm" tells the story of Min Xu, a Kochi woman, who plucked up the courage to break through the storm after her husband's long-term domestic violence and PUA.

The movie "I Crossing the Storm" shows Min Xu's life from the beginning: she is an independent and self-reliant professional woman with her own career and circle of friends, seemingly happy marriage and two lovely children. However, her husband, Chen Jun, is a violent control freak. He often commits various forms of domestic violence against her, including verbal, physical, sexual and economic abuse.

Min Xu dared not ask anyone for help, nor did she dare to call the police or divorce, because she was afraid that Chen Jun would take even crazier revenge on her and her children. She can only endure this torture, hoping to change Chen Jun's mentality one day, or wait until the children grow up to make plans. However, in a domestic violence, Min Xu was injured and hospitalized, and the doctor advised her to call the police and seek legal assistance. With the help of lawyer Annabel Lee, Min Xu began to understand the domestic violence law and decided to sue for divorce.

But Chen Jun threatened her by various means and even tried to commit suicide to gain sympathy. With the encouragement of Annabel Lee, Min Xu persisted and finally got a successful divorce, and obtained the custody of the children and the right to divide the property.

Evaluation of the movie I Crossing the Storm

As a China film with the theme of showing women's marital and domestic violence, I Crossing the Storm attracted many public opinions before its release. However, the double tear of box office and word-of-mouth after the film was released stems from the acceptance deviation caused by the "deep" concept and "shallow" narrative dislocation of the film, and also reflects the shortcomings of realistic films in dealing with real material problems.

In the early stage of script writing, the film collected a large number of cases of domestic violence with social influence as the material, trying to connect the numerous obstacles faced by women in resisting and fleeing from domestic violence centered on the bumpy experience of Min Xu, a female executive of the company, who suffered from domestic violence, difficult divorce and even killed her husband and went to prison.

As an abuser, Jun Chen not only has the aura of being a university teacher and a "good father", but also has the dark label of being familiar with human body structure and leaving no traces of violence. When Xu Min shouted for help because of violence, these auras and labels became powerful weapons for Chen Jun to defend himself and seek sympathy from onlookers, and became the first line of defense that Min Xu could not break through.
