Origin of County Name: Before Zijin was founded, it belonged to Changle County (now Wuhua County) and Guishan County (now Huiyang County). During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, peasant miners in two counties revolted continuously, among which the uprising of miners in Qitoushan, Qingxi lasted for more than 20 years, covering Xingning, Changle, Chengxiang (now Meixian), Jieyang, Heyuan, Longchuan, Boluo, Haifeng, Guishan and Dongguan, all bounded by Guishan County, Kuandidu and Qinjiangdu in Changle County. The provincial and state governments have carried out many expropriations for this purpose, but due to the vast territory and numerous mountains and rivers, it is easy to gather and disperse, and no obvious results have been seen. In the 45th year of Jiajing (1566), Wu Guifang, the imperial envoy of Guangdong and Guangxi, sent heavy troops to suppress the uprising for the fifth time. In order to ensure peace, in the third year of Qin Long in the Ming Dynasty (1569), the court approved the partition of the ancient capital (Qiuxiang River Basin), Kuandedu (Baipu River and Yi Rong River Basin) and Qinjiangdu (Qinjiang River Basin) of Changle County, and established Yong 'an County, which means the land of Yong 'an, with long-term stability. Take Anmin Town (now Zicheng Town), which was called Wushiyue in ancient times, as the county governance and build the county seat.
