Whist was born in Wujin County (now Shangcai County, Henan Province), Ruyang County, Yuzhou, Southern Wei Dynasty, and his common name was Li. At the age of fifteen, he became a Buddhist monk. At the age of twenty, he was strictly bound by precepts. He doesn't usually associate with people. In a few years, he read and recited classics such as Fahua thousands of times every day. I started practicing Zen again, because I read Miao Ding Sheng Jing. Go out for a stroll, ask Zen, and often practice Zen in the Woods. In the middle, I went to find the famous Huiwen Zen master at that time. In terms of meditation methods, I follow monks during the day and concentrate on meditation at night. Combined with the meaning of Hokkekyo, I realized Buddhism and Samadhi in China. He asked Yu Jian and the most famous Zen master for his understanding, won their recognition and made his reputation spread far and wide. After that, he traveled all over the States, and more and more people followed him to learn Zen. In order to teach Zen to his disciples, he set out to collect relevant teachings from Mahayana and Mahayana theories and explain them throughout. At the age of 34 (548), he taught Zen in Yanzhou. Because of the complexity of my disciples, I was born with right and wrong and was murdered by an evil teacher. From then on, I stopped traveling to the north, but led the people to the south. Go to Xinzhou first, and then to Yunzhou. Please talk about Mahayana everywhere. In Yunzhou, the wicked poisoned the food again, and three people died of poisoning. In 553, in the second year, Liang Wudi led his troops south to Gwangju, and stayed in Dasu Mountain the following year to give lectures on "Da Pin Prajna Sutra" at Kaiyue Temple and Guan Yi Temple. As a result, there were many letters, so he made a wish to write the Prajna Sutra in gold. At the age of 44 (558), Guang Qi Temple in Yucheng County realized his wish, wrote Jin Zijing's book and kept it as a treasure letter. He attached great importance to the completion of this matter, and also wrote a pledge, describing his becoming a monk, practicing Zen and being disturbed and poisoned in various ways in various places. So, he wrote down the reason why Jin Zijing published a book, and vowed to practice Zen to solve problems, gain divine power, carry forward Prajna, and spread the great wish of all beings. Because the spread of this "oath" has aroused the admiration of believers from far away, and many people from far away have benefited from it. It was at this time that Zhiyi, who later founded Tiantai Sect, came to Gwangju to learn Taoism for him. Whist traveled in Gwangju for fourteen years, but in the second year of Chen Daiguang (568), she took more than forty disciples to Hunan and stayed in Nanyue. There, he continued to advocate meditation and Chen's followers were eager to join him. Master Chen welcomed him to Jianye, the capital of Chen, lived in Xuansi Temple, and talked about "great products and prajnaparamita". He was deeply impressed by the fact that Buddhism in Nandi paid more attention to Zen, so he opened two doors: to be wise, to be reasonable during the day, to practice meditation at night, and to talk about Zen paramita at the same time. Zhu Chen respected him as a great Zen master and was moved for a while. Later, he lived in Nanyue and continued to preach Zen. He usually wears a big ring, only cotton cloth, and wears mugwort wind cream in winter. The continuation of the monk biography especially praised his kindness. In the ninth year (577), Chen Taijian came down from the top of the mountain and lived in the Mid-Levels Dojo. He gathered a large number of disciples and encouraged him to practice Buddhism frequently. His words were extremely bitter and he died in Nanyue in June.
