Brief introduction of Chen style Tai Ji Chuan small frame

Chen Taijichuan's training emphasizes that the big circle is closed to the small circle and the small circle is closed to the acyclic circle. Historically, Tai Ji Chuan has no distinction between big and small, but only in training methods. For beginners, in order to let the apprentice get started as soon as possible, the master enlarged the frame and asked the apprentice to start with the big circle and the outer circle. After a period of training, the apprentice mastered the movement law of Chen Tai Ji Chuan, and gradually changed from a big circle to a small circle, and from an outer circle to an inner circle, forming a spiral winding force that changed and transmitted along the trunk and limbs. With the development of Tai Ji Chuan, in order to distinguish the different practice methods of Chen and Tai Ji Chuan, later generations have been called "big boxing" and "small boxing". Today, Chen and Tai Ji Chuan have the same technical and theoretical basis except for their different action forms. The big fighter also emphasizes gradually narrowing the circle, and the small fighter also emphasizes expanding the circle at the beginning of training. The training process of the two is basically the same, so there is a saying that "a big fighter is not big and a small fighter is not small".

Chen's Tai Chi Chuan Da Jia began to spread abroad because some descendants went abroad to be darts or do business. In particular, the 17th Chen Fa-ke and 18th Zhao Chen Pi were invited by Beijing and Nanjing officials to preach boxing, which made Chen's fight in Tai Ji Chuan widely circulated and well known to the world. Xiao Jia only teaches at home, and the teacher is strict, so far little known. Nowadays, the descendants of Chen's "Xiao Jia" have also begun to teach, but due to the late start, the popularization scope is still limited. The representative figures of Chen's "little shelf" in Tai Ji Chuan are: Chen Jin 'ao (his grandson), Chen Kedi, Chen Tang (), Chen Donghai,, Chen Lixian, Chen Boxian and so on. Nowadays, their descendants and students are making active efforts for the development of Chen's Tai Ji Chuan Small Rack.

Chen Taiji's Biography, edited by the 16th Chen, is regarded as a classic in Wulin, and its boxing scores are all "small-frame" boxing scores. "Illustration" comes from the preface: "Fools are afraid that the time series will move and they can't wait, and they are afraid that they will be separated from each other and lose their true story, so they try their best to make a microscopic exposition in their spare time. Looking through the books, there is no shelf of the biography of Chen Taiji. Therefore, the Tai Ji Chuan frame recorded in Chen Tai Ji Chuan's Illustration should be the closest to the original appearance of Chen's boxing.
