He has been teaching at the school since 1989. He is currently the executive director of the Criminal Procedure Law Research Society of the China Law Society and a member of the China Branch of the International Association of Criminal Law. He served as assistant to the president of Changchun Intermediate People's Court (2005) and senior research scholar at Yale Law School (2009). Currently, he is a researcher at the Procedural Law Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, a part-time professor at the Criminal Legal Science Institute of Beijing Normal University, a law enforcement and discipline supervisor of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Jilin Province, a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Jilin Higher People's Court, a people's supervisor of the Changchun Municipal People's Procuratorate, and a supervisor of the Liaoyuan Municipal People's Procuratorate. Member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Municipal People's Procuratorate. Jilin Province Social Sciences "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" (Law) Expert. Hosted and completed 4 scientific research projects including National Social Science Fund Project. There are many projects under study including the National Social Science Fund project and the 2012 major projects of the Supreme People's Court. Main research directions: criminal procedure law and evidence law.
