Qualifications of jurors
It is the duty of every qualified Hong Kong citizen to serve as a juror.
Although serving as a juror sometimes brings inconvenience, Hong Kong is a society ruled by law and has a transparent legal system. Jury plays a particularly important role, so serving as a juror is also an honor.
Hong Kong residents who meet the following conditions are eligible to serve as jurors:
At least 2 1 year old but under 65 years old;
He is mentally sound, and there is nothing that prevents him from serving as a juror, such as hearing or visual impairment;
Good character, and
Familiar with the language used in the hearing, that is, Chinese or English (depending on individual circumstances)
