How many times can a lawyer meet with a criminal detention lawyer? There is no limit on the number of meetings with a lawyer after criminal detention. In an ordinary case, from criminal detention to court judgment, the number of meetings with lawyers is generally about 3 to 5 times. If the client has other special matters, such as requiring a lawyer to assist in handling company affairs, the lawyer can increase the number of meetings, but the lawyer will generally charge the meeting fee. Paragraph 1 of Article 39 of the Criminal Procedure Law stipulates that defense lawyers may meet with and communicate with criminal suspects and defendants in custody. Other defenders may also meet with and communicate with criminal suspects and defendants in custody with the permission of the People's Court and People's Procuratorate.
